Early Vernon: The Magic of Dai Vernon in 1932 is a historically significant 72-page magic booklet published in 1962 by the Ireland Magic Company (which later became Magic Inc. in Chicago). Edited by Vernon’s close friend and confidant Faucett Ross, this booklet acts as a bridge to the past, preserving rare material that shaped modern close-up magic.

The primary purpose of the book was to officially republish and bring up-to-date two legendary, highly exclusive manuscripts from three decades prior:

The $20.00 Manuscript (1932): Adjusted for inflation, twenty dollars during the Great Depression was an astronomical price for a magic manuscript. It contained 10 of Vernon's closely guarded secrets, sold only to a select few elite magicians.

The $3.00 Manuscript: A subsequent follow-up release containing five classic close-up problems.

The booklet includes historical essays—"How It Began" and "The Manuscript Story"—alongside the original sales letters and prospectuses written by Faucett Ross to market these secrets to prominent figures of the era (like author Fulton Oursler). It also features nostalgic photographs and illustrations drawn by "The Professor" (Dai Vernon) himself.
