Sweet Pea The Happy Skunk - Spring animal Puppet

$15.00

Sweet Pea the Skunk is a popular comedic spring puppet used by magicians, clowns, and children's entertainers to create the illusion of a live, hyperactive animal.

It is designed as an affordable, skunk-themed alternative to the classic "Rocky the Raccoon" magic prop.

The Gimmick: The interior of the puppet features a flexible metal spring skeleton covered in black and white faux fur. This spring gives the puppet a realistic, bouncy weight and allows it to stretch, compress, and move smoothly.

Size: The body measures approximately 11 inches long, plus a large, fluffy tail (bringing the total length closer to 18–19 inches).

Control Mechanism: The performer doesn't put their hand inside a traditional glove pocket. Instead, you hold the puppet's body and use your fingers/hands to manipulate the internal spring, making its head turn, body twitch, or tail wag.

How It's Used in Performances

Because it behaves like an unpredictable, living creature, it relies heavily on physical comedy and audience interaction:

Puppet Antics: Performers easily make Sweet Pea look like it is turning its head to look around the room, eating food out of a hand, nodding, or scaling up the performer’s chest and over their shoulder.

Production Prop: Magicians often hide the compressed spring puppet inside a top hat, a "square circle," or a production box, popping it out as a sudden, funny surprise.

The Gag: The inherent humor of a "stinky" skunk getting close to the performer or the audience naturally drives high-energy laughter, making it an excellent addition to kid-focused comedy acts.
